Greece Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Construction, and Travel sectors led shares upward.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 1.32% to hit a new 1-month high.
Best Performers
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were:
– Intracom Holdings SA (AT:INRr): rose 8.15% or 0.22 points to trade at 2.92 at the close.
– Lavipharm SA (AT:LPHr): added 6.33% or 0.05 points to end at 0.77.
– Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr): up 4.37% or 0.08 points to 1.91 in late trade.
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session were:
– Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr): fell 2.69% or 0.60 points to trade at 21.70 at the close.
– Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr): declined 1.27% or 0.05 points to end at 3.89.
– Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr): down 1.09% or 0.02 points to 1.82.
Market Activity
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 98 to 25 with 12 ending unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.49% or 13.11 to $2,663.09 a troy ounce. In commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.63% or 0.43 to hit $68.97 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.61% or 0.44 to trade at $72.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.59% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP was unchanged at 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 105.84.
