Greece Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Banking, and Travel sectors led shares upward.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.36% to hit a new 1-month high.
Best Performers
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were:
– Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr): +6.87% or 0.02 points, trading at 0.34 at the close.
– Alumil (AT:ALMr): +6.47% or 0.28 points, ending at 4.53.
– Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA): +3.51% or 0.07 points, reaching 1.95 in late trade.
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session were:
– Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR): -2.10% or 0.30 points, trading at 14.00 at the close.
– Centric Hold (AT:DESr): unchanged at 0.34.
– Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr): -1.00% or 0.34 points, to 33.64.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange, with 76 advancing, 40 declining, and 21 unchanged.
Shares in Alumil (AT:ALMr) rose to 5-year highs, increasing by 6.47% or 0.28 to 4.53.
Commodities Update
- Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.09% or 29.41 to $2,679.99 a troy ounce.
- Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.16% or 0.81 to $70.83 a barrel.
- The February Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.67 to trade at $74.08 a barrel.
Currency Update
- EUR/USD was unchanged at 1.05.
- EUR/GBP rose 0.68% to 0.83.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 106.76.
