Google Developing AI for Browsers
(Reuters) – Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL)'s Google is creating AI technology to enhance web browsers for tasks like research and shopping, according to a report from The Information on Saturday.
The product, codenamed Project Jarvis, is expected to be demonstrated in December alongside the launch of Google's flagship Gemini large language model, as per sources familiar with the project.
Additionally, Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) backed OpenAI aims to enable its models to autonomously browse the web for research using a CUA (computer-using agent) that acts on its findings, a report from July stated.
Furthermore, companies like Anthropic and Google are exploring advanced agent concepts that would allow software to interact directly with a user’s computer or browser, the report mentioned.
Google has not yet responded to a Reuters request for comment.
