General Motors Recalls Chevrolet Equinox EVs
(Reuters) – The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced on Wednesday that General Motors (NYSE: GM) is recalling approximately 2,890 Chevrolet Equinox EV vehicles due to concerns about their adaptive cruise control.
The recall affects certain 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV all-wheel drive electric vehicles.
The issue involves the adaptive cruise control potentially failing to engage the brakes as expected, which is attributed to incorrect brake module software. This malfunction increases the risk of a crash, as stated by the U.S. auto safety regulator.
Dealers will provide updates to the software calibration in the brake system control module at no cost to vehicle owners, according to the NHTSA.
