Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.26%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Safran SA (EPA:SAF), which rose 2.48% or 5.50 points to trade at 227.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) added 1.89% or 1.60 points to end at 86.12 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) was up 1.82% or 0.21 points to 11.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which fell 2.50% or 0.78 points to trade at 30.40 at the close. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) declined 2.01% or 1.76 points to end at 85.84 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was down 1.41% or 0.66 points to 46.03.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which rose 4.55% to 4.14, Sopra Steria Group SA (EPA:SOPR) which was up 3.19% to settle at 177.80 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which gained 2.54% to close at 2.59.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 32.65% to 0.50 in late trade, Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which lost 10.49% to settle at 6.79 and Derichebourg (EPA:DBG) which was down 5.67% to 4.22 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 252 to 245 and 88 ended unchanged.
Shares in Safran SA (EPA:SAF) rose to all time highs; up 2.48% or 5.50 to 227.30.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.45% or 11.91 to $2,670.41 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.92% or 1.99 to hit $70.09 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.60% or 1.87 to trade at $73.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 106.21.
