Etherlink Moves to Full Production Readiness

Etherlink, a Layer 2 blockchain leveraging Tezos technology, has transitioned from public beta to full production readiness, marking a significant milestone.

To commemorate this achievement and stimulate activity in 2025, Etherlink announced various initiatives at ETHDenver, including a $3 million Apple Farm rewards program and a builder’s program to engage developers.

Programs Launch and Waitlists Open

Today, the waitlists for the Apple Farm and builder’s program opened, coinciding with rising momentum in Etherlink’s ecosystem, reflected in over $2 million in DEX trading volume and the successful Bifröst network upgrade.

The Apple Farm program, launching in March 2025, aims to encourage participation in Etherlink’s growing DeFi ecosystem. Participants earn “Apples”—points for engaging in impactful onchain activities—using the Merkl platform, which has distributed over $80 million in tokens across 40+ chains.

Founding partners Superlend, Hanji, and IguanaDEX will support users with a dashboard to track points, view leaderboards, and engage with integrated protocols. Rewards include exclusive NFTs, special Discord roles, and additional perks to boost user engagement.

Builder’s Program to Support dApp Development

Alongside the Apple Farm, Etherlink launched a builder’s program to simplify deploying decentralized applications (dApps) on its chain. This initiative, now with an open waitlist, seeks to attract developers to utilize Etherlink’s robust infrastructure, which supports platforms like uranium.io, the first decentralized tokenized uranium trading platform, and several sold-out NFT collections.

Cédric Roche, Head of Business Development at Nomadic Labs (a Tezos R&D hub), described the programs as a “natural progression” for Etherlink, hinting at more initiatives on the horizon.

Ecosystem Expansion Through Upgrades and Partnerships

Etherlink’s announcements come during a period of significant growth. The recent Bifröst upgrade has enhanced network performance, while partnerships with top DeFi players such as Spiko and Midas, and platforms like Rabby Wallet and Thirdweb’s Nebula, highlight Etherlink’s expanding influence.

Additionally, the introduction of a “.etherlink” domain via Freename further enhances its brand identity. Pablo Veyrat, co-founder of Merkl, commended the partnership, stating that Apple Farm employs Merkl’s extensive tools to streamline reward distribution and improve user interactions.

With a strong base and ambitious plans, Etherlink is set to foster ongoing growth in the DeFi and blockchain sectors.
