EasyA Educates Developers in the Polkadot Ecosystem

Investing.com – Web3 education platform and incubator EasyA has successfully educated over 100,000 developers on the Polkadot ecosystem. This milestone coincided with two Polkadot hackathons this summer, attracting nearly 1,000 developers and resulting in 111 startups.

As part of their #180DaysofPolkadot campaign, the hackathons highlighted opportunities for developers within the Polkadot ecosystem.

EasyA invited its community, referred to as gigabrains, to apply for the hackathon. With nearly 1 million members worldwide, thousands eagerly pursued the chance to hack in-person at Consensus this year.

During the EasyA x Polkadot hackathon in London, over 400 developers participated, leading to the creation of 56 startups. Among the winning projects were:
– A tool for integrating Farcaster with Polkadot
Paxmata, a real estate management app
Paperbaum, a custom parachain for secure academic paper publishing.

These teams are actively seeking additional funding to scale their startups.

Following the London event, EasyA hosted a second Polkadot hackathon at Harvard University, where over 300 developers launched 55 games, leveraging NFTs on Unique Network’s parachain. This event featured a $20,000 prize pool and a guest appearance by INDY500 racer Conor Daly.

EasyA has emerged as a pivotal force in driving developer activity on Polkadot, with nearly 1,000 startups born from its hackathons this year. The app is celebrated for being user-friendly and enjoyable for aspiring Web3 developers.

Alumni of EasyA are reported to have founded startups valued at over $2.5 billion, securing funding from top venture capital firms. Cognition AI, founded by hackathon winner Walden Yan, achieved a $2B valuation in April. Walden previously pitched his blockchain idea for DALLE at an EasyA hackathon at Harvard in 2022.

Founded by graduates from the University of Cambridge and The Wharton School, EasyA boasts over 1M downloads and has been recognized as Apple’s App of the Day. The app continues to attract developers into Web3 through in-person hackathons in cities like San Francisco, London, and Singapore.
