Continental Automotive Outlook
BERLIN (Reuters) – German automotive supplier Continental announced on Tuesday that it expects global production of passenger cars and light trucks to decline by more than 3% in the third quarter compared to the second quarter. However, they anticipate a growth of approximately 4% in Chinese production, as local car manufacturers are increasing their market share.
Despite the expected lower sales, Continental foresees an improvement in profitability specifically within its automotive business in the third quarter.
> Note: This report has been corrected to clarify that profitability is expected to improve in the automotive sector, not for the entire company.
