ConsenSys CEO Joseph Lubin Claims Ethereum Must Remain Credibly Neutral
Joseph Lubin, CEO of ConsenSys, claims that Ethereum must maintain its status as “credibly neutral” and “apolitical.”
> “One can build biased, political, centralized, and local applications on such a platform, and benefit from connectivity to everything else on the platform,” he stated.
Lubin emphasized that Ethereum supporters, including ConsenSys and Etherealize, can assist governments and businesses in understanding the blockchain’s various use cases.
His remarks come amid worries that Ethereum is losing its prominence due to insufficient lobbying efforts.
> “If Ethereum changes course abruptly, it risks losing its identity. Any newly formed lobbying arms are already late,” said former venture capitalist Ismael Hishon-Rezaizadeh.
Additionally, Ethereum is currently facing challenges such as heavy throughput constraints, fragmented liquidity, a lack of clear direction from the Ethereum Foundation, and internal conflicts among various teams.
“We No Longer Have to Be Quiet”
Lubin pointed out that key Ethereum players no longer need to remain silent, as the SEC has ceased its actions against them.
As reported by U.Today, the regulatory agency dropped its case against ConsenSys in late February.
> “Consensus, Etherealize, and many others are shifting modes from being heads down and focusing heavily on building to being a bit more heads up and vocal to add a much stronger and coordinated messaging component to our work,” Lubin emphasized.
