Coinbase to Add Moo Deng (MOODENG) Memecoin

Coinbase, the cryptocurrency exchange giant, announced plans to add the memecoin Moo Deng (MOODENG) to its listings.

This move marks Coinbase's third addition of a memecoin to its listing roadmap recently, following plans for Dogwifhat (WIF) and Pepe (PEPE) in November, as reported by The Block.

Moo Deng is a Solana-based cryptocurrency named after a pygmy hippopotamus at Thailand's Khao Kheow Open Zoo. The hippo gained viral popularity in September 2023 due to her charming personality and small stature. The token had a notable impact on the launchpad Pump.fun, which experienced a volume spike following its launch on September 11.

As of 3:38 PM ET on December 2, MOODENG was trading at approximately $0.59, seeing a 68% increase within the past 24 hours, according to crypto tracker CoinGecko. The token has a market capitalization exceeding $579 million.

Compared to other memecoins, MOODENG is performing better. The Block's GMCI Index for memecoins, which tracks the market trends for top memecoins by market cap, saw a nearly 6% decrease in the last 24 hours.
