Axal Raises $2.5 Million in Pre-Seed Funding
Axal, a firm focused on building a verifiable autonomous agent network, announced on Thursday that it raised $2.5 million in pre-seed funding.
Funding Details
CMT Digital led the funding round, with additional support from organizations including a16z Crypto Startup School, Escape Velocity, IDG Vietnam, Artichoke Capital, Trident Digital, Blockchain Builders Fund, Blockhunters Group, Echo, and the Mentat Group, as well as various angel investors, as reported in a release shared with The Block. Axal plans to utilize the funds to expand its current team of five employees.
New Product Launch
On the same day, the firm launched its agent-powered trading automation platform, Axal Autopilot. This platform allows crypto holders to create personalized trading strategies that help track prices, execute on-chain swaps, and manage yield.
Vision for Web3 Agents
"Web3 agents are having a moment right now, but it's easy to get lost in a sea of projects. Axal is laser-focused on making agents verifiable to actually do meaningful tasks — not just creating a token or providing entertainment, but making our lives easier through automation," stated Axal Founder Ash Ahmed in an email to The Block.
Market Trends
Axal's pre-seed funding round comes after previous venture capital interest in autonomous agents. The startup Skyfire also raised a total of $9.5 million in strategic funding to develop infrastructure for AI agents capable of autonomously making crypto-based or fiat payments, as previously reported by The Block.
