China Responds to Trump’s Remarks
BEIJING (Reuters) – China attaches “great importance” to the remarks of Donald Trump, the foreign ministry stated in response to the U.S. President-elect’s comments on Monday. Trump mentioned that he has been in talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping through their aides.
Trump expressed optimism about his relationship with Xi, noting it must be a “two-way street,” while reiterating his belief that China has been “ripping off” the U.S. economically.
The ministry’s spokesperson did not confirm any exchanges between the leaders’ aides but emphasized that China and the U.S. have maintained communication through various channels.
