Abu Dhabi Global Market and Chainlink Collaboration
Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Chainlink to explore blockchain regulation, tokenization, and emerging technologies.
The agreement will support blockchain projects registered with ADGM by providing access to Chainlink’s infrastructure and expertise. It also includes plans for educational events on topics like cross-chain interoperability and proof of reserves.
Regulatory Standards for Blockchain and AI
The partnership aims to establish regulatory standards for blockchain and artificial intelligence, helping to set rules for the creation, transfer, and management of digital assets while ensuring financial compliance.
ADGM is an international financial center in the UAE that regulates financial services and digital assets. Chainlink (LINK) is a blockchain company facilitating the connection of real-world data to smart contracts, which are self-executing agreements on a blockchain.
Understanding Tokenization
Tokenization refers to converting real-world assets, such as stocks or real estate, into digital tokens that can be traded on a blockchain. Chainlink has facilitated over $19 trillion in transactions by offering data and blockchain interoperability services, enabling different networks to share information.
Hamad Sayah Al Mazrouei, CEO of ADGM’s Registration Authority, remarked that the partnership would help shape global regulatory approaches and enhance trust in blockchain systems.
Workshops and Discussions on Tokenization and Interoperability
As part of the MoU, ADGM and Chainlink will conduct workshops discussing tokenization, interoperability, and emerging blockchain standards. This initiative aims to educate businesses and regulators on the potential benefits and risks of blockchain technology.
ADGM aspires to be a global hub for blockchain innovation by creating regulatory frameworks for decentralized ledger technology and collaborating with Chainlink to develop a compliant, scalable ecosystem for digital assets and DeFi.
