Canada Stocks Close Higher
Canada stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, driven by gains in the Clean Technology, IT, and Consumer Discretionary sectors.
At the close in Toronto, the S&P/TSX Composite gained 0.54% to hit a new all-time high.

- CES Energy Solutions Corp (TSX:CEU): -6.10% or -0.47 points to 7.23
- International Petroleum Corp (TSX:IPCO): -5.44% or -0.95 points to 16.50
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 580 to 363, with 101 unchanged.
The S&P/TSX 60 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, increased by 2.19% to 10.74.
In commodities trading:
– Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.40% or 10.65 to $2,695.35 a troy ounce.
– Crude Oil for November fell 3.23% or 2.25 to $67.44 a barrel.
– Brent Oil for December dropped 2.87% or 2.09 to $70.81 a barrel.
The currency exchange rates showed:
– CAD/USD was unchanged at 0.74.
– CAD/EUR was also unchanged at 0.66.
The US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.32% to 100.30.
