Brazil Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, with losses in the Financials, Industrials, and Consumption sectors leading to a decline in shares.
At the close in São Paulo, the Bovespa declined 1.39%.
Best Performers
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were:
– CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:CMIN3): rose 4.22% or 0.25 points to trade at 6.18 at the close.
– Braskem SA (BVMF:BRKM5): added 3.00% or 0.55 points to end at 18.90.
– Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:CSNA3): was up 0.61% or 0.07 points to 11.60 in late trade.
Worst Performers
The worst performers were:
– Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4): fell 6.33% or 0.30 points to trade at 4.44.
– 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas SA (BVMF:RRRP3): declined 5.57% or 1.35 points to end at 22.87.
– Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:PCAR3): was down 4.69% or 0.15 points to 3.05.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing stocks on the B3 Stock Exchange with 636 declines compared to 316 advances; 60 stocks ended unchanged.
Shares in 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas SA fell to 3-year lows, declining 5.57% to 22.87.
The CBOE Brazil ETF Volatility, measuring the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.91% to 26.14.
Commodities Outlook
- Gold Futures for December delivery: down 0.72% or 18.40 to $2,524.70 a troy ounce.
- Crude oil for October delivery: fell 1.55% or 1.07 to hit $68.08 a barrel.
- December US coffee C contract: down 3.41% or 8.32 to trade at $235.88.
Currency Update
- USD/BRL rose 0.43% to 5.60, while EUR/BRL increased 0.17% to 6.20.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 101.15.
