Brazilian Stocks Close Lower
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Consumption, and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.11%.
Best Performers
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were:
– Embraer SA (BVMF:EMBR3): up 4.17% or 2.00 points, trading at 49.98 at the close.
– Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3): up 4.13% or 0.24 points, ending at 6.05.
– Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF:MGLU3): up 2.87% or 0.27 points, trading at 9.67 in late trade.
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session were:
– Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF:HAPV3): down 2.93% or 0.11 points, trading at 3.65.
– Petroleo Brasileiro SA (BVMF:PETR3): down 1.83% or 0.74 points, ending at 39.63.
– Natura & Co SA (BVMF:NTCO3): down 1.68% or 0.25 points, trading at 14.64.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 569 to 392, with 67 ending unchanged.
Market Indicators
The CBOE Brazil ETF Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.61% to 29.16.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.15% or 4.20 to $2,734.20 a troy ounce.
Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.70% or 1.17 to hit $69.86 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 2.01% or 5.17 to trade at $252.13.
Currency Exchange Rates
- USD/BRL was unchanged 0.09% to 5.70.
- EUR/BRL rose 0.40% to 6.16.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 103.80.
