BlackRock in Talks with Millennium Management

NEW YORK (Reuters) – BlackRock Inc (NYSE:BLK) is in early-stage discussions with hedge fund Millennium Management regarding a potential strategic tie-up, which may include acquiring a minority stake in the hedge fund, according to two sources familiar with the situation.

The sources indicated that the outcome of the talks remains uncertain, with one suggesting that the strategic rationale behind a potential transaction is unclear.

The Financial Times had previously reported on the ongoing discussions regarding the deal.
