Bitget Appoints Hon Ng as Chief Legal Officer

Bitget, a cryptocurrency exchange and web3 company, has appointed Hon Ng as its Chief Legal Officer.

Ng’s responsibilities will include:
– Overseeing the company’s adherence to global regulatory requirements
– Engaging with regulators
– Assisting Bitget’s market expansion by obtaining licenses
According to a press release, he has been with Bitget since early April.

Previous Experience

Before joining Bitget, Ng was the General Counsel and Head of Government Affairs and Policy at Binance. In this role, he managed the exchange’s cooperation with global regulators, including those in the United States. Ng departed from Binance in August 2023.

Previously, he held roles at Uber, where he initially served as a legal director and later as director of business development. Ng played a key role in a $2 billion merger of Uber’s Southeast Asian business with Grab.

“Hon Ng’s extensive experience in digital and Web3-related legal and compliance affairs, as well as his outstanding track record of solving complex corporate-level issues and scaling businesses, have singled him out as the ideal candidate for the position of Chief Legal Officer at Bitget,” said Gracy Chen, the exchange’s CEO.
