YZI Labs Invests in Vana

YZi Labs, formerly known as Binance Labs, has invested in crypto-AI startup Vana, focusing on data ownership.

Changpeng Zhao, co-founder of Binance, has joined Vana as an advisor via YZi Labs. The investment amount remains undisclosed.

This investment follows Vana’s mainnet and token launch last December. YZi Labs has expanded its focus to include AI and biotech, highlighting its commitment to transformative innovation.

According to Andy Chang, Chief Investment Officer of YZi Labs, “As AI advances, data sovereignty is a critical issue. Vana is pioneering a model that supports revolutionary AI research while empowering individuals with control over their data.”

Anna Kazlauskas, founder of Vana, mentioned:

The strategic investment is set to close in January 2025, with YZi Labs as the sole investor. Other notable investors in Valve include Paradigm, Coinbase Ventures, and Polychain Capital, which participated in a previous $25 million funding round. Following the investment announcement, VANA’s price has begun to rise.
