Qantas Airways Settlement with TWU
(Reuters) – Australia’s Qantas Airways announced a settlement with the Transport Workers Union (TWU) for A$120 million ($76.2 million) in compensation to former ground workers terminated in 2020.
The airline will establish a compensation fund in early 2025 for the ex-employees. The total amount will include compensation to the TWU and costs for distributing the funds.
Additionally, the Federal Court will hold a separate hearing to assess potential penalties against Qantas for the dismissals.
