    Australia Stock Market Update

    Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the IT, Utilities, and Telecoms Services sectors led shares higher.

    At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 added 0.56%.

    • Westgold Resources Ltd (ASX: WGX): +3.55% or +0.11 points, closing at 3.21
    • Cleanaway Waste Management Ltd (ASX: CWY): +3.33% or +0.09 points, closing at 2.79
    • APA Group (ASX: APA): +3.09% or +0.21 points, closing at 7.01

    Worst Performers

    • Mineral Resources Ltd (ASX: MIN): -9.23% or -3.75 points, closing at 36.86
    • Nuix Ltd (ASX: NXL): -3.58% or -0.27 points, closing at 7.28
    • Pointsbet Holdings Ltd (ASX: PBH): -3.49% or -0.03 points, closing at 0.83

    Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 613 to 474, with 385 stocks ending unchanged.

    The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 3.77% to 13.31.

    Commodity Prices

    • Gold Futures for December delivery: +0.03% or +0.75 to $2,749.95 a troy ounce.
    • Crude oil for December delivery: +1.81% or +1.26 to hit $70.75 a barrel.
    • January Brent oil contract: +1.68% or +1.23, trading at $74.33 a barrel.

    Currency Updates

    • AUD/USD: unchanged at 0.66%.
    • AUD/JPY: fell 0.39% to 100.31.
    • The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 103.65.
