Audi Sales Chief Transition
BERLIN (Reuters) – Audi’s sales chief Hildegard Wortmann has decided to step back from her role, with Marco Schubert, the head of Europe at Porsche AG, named as her replacement. Wortmann joined Audi in July 2019 from a long career at BMW, focusing on sales and marketing.
As the first woman on Audi’s board and a member of Volkswagen’s board, she managed record sales of 1.9 million cars in 2023, after challenges post-pandemic. Despite overcoming previous struggles, Audi faced supply chain issues and a decline in EV demand this year.
Looking ahead, Audi plans to launch over 20 new EV and combustion engine models between 2024 and 2025, with a shift to EV-only models starting in 2026. Schubert, who has been with Porsche since 2021 and previously worked at Audi in China, will officially take over the role on September 1.
