Apple Unveils New MacBook Pro Models
(Reuters) – Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) on Wednesday unveiled new MacBook Pro models featuring more powerful processors targeted at tasks like photo and video editing, aiming to enhance its appeal among creative professionals.
The new line will start at $1,599 for the 14-inch variant, with higher-end versions equipped with the more powerful M4 Pro and M4 Max processors.
The 16-inch screen variant with the base M4 chip will have a starting price of $2,499.
Customers are looking to upgrade to personal computers with more powerful chips to smoothly run artificial intelligence tools.
Apple Intelligence is available in most regions globally when the device and Siri language is set to U.S. English. A free software update for Macs with M1 chips or later is available starting Wednesday.
The initial tools are available in beta with macOS Sequoia 15.1, with a broader rollout coming in the following months.
Pre-orders for the new MacBook Pro started Wednesday, and deliveries and in-store availability will commence on November 8.
Earlier this year, Apple launched new MacBook Air laptops with its latest M3 processors, starting at $1,099 for the smaller 13-inch variant.
The PC market is projected to rebound in 2024, driven by the rise of AI-enabled computers, following a slump lasting over two years since the pandemic.
These launches arrive shortly after Apple unveiled a set of colorful iMac desktop computers featuring the M4 chip and Apple Intelligence capabilities.
