Germany Will Not Screen UniCredit Takeover of Commerzbank

BERLIN (Reuters) – Germany will not subject any potential takeover of Commerzbank (ETR:CBKG) by Italy's UniCredit to an investment screening, a German government source said on Thursday.

The source stated that this decision applies regardless of whether the German lender is considered so-called critical infrastructure or not.

UniCredit wasn't immediately available for comment.
