KOR Protocol Unveils KOR Player
KOR Protocol, a startup supported by Animoca Brands, has launched a streaming service called KOR Player. Early supporters include DJs like Joel Zimmerman (deadmau5), Plastkman, Inder Phull, Ben Turner, and Dean Wilson.
The KOR Player allows users to play and remix music, featuring tools like a sound library for intellectual property where artists can upload samples. It also utilizes artificial intelligence to verify music provenance and distribute royalties in cryptocurrency.
KOR aims to address the ambiguous territory surrounding music copyright laws and unlicensed IP usage in video games, live streams, esports, and other popular formats. The initiative looks to offer artists and labels new avenues for reaching audiences and monetizing their work.
The company reports 550,000 user signups and lists Japanese telecom giant KDDI as an early supporter.
Animoca Brands has previously invested in noteworthy ventures like Yuga Labs, Axie Infinity, Polygon, Consensys, and Magic Eden, among many others.
