Blockchain-Based Payments Firm Borderless.xyz Emerges from Stealth

Borderless.xyz, a blockchain-based payments firm, announced on Wednesday its emergence from stealth mode and a successful $3 million pre-seed funding round.

Amity Ventures led this funding, raising Borderless.xyz's total to $3.3 million. The company attracted participation from nine angel investors, including Talos founder Anton Katz and Fireblocks founder Michael Shaulov, as noted in a release shared with The Block.

Borderless.xyz specializes in payment infrastructure that enables global transactions across stablecoins, real-world assets, and other forms of “internet-native money” in conjunction with fiat currencies. The company currently operates in over 50 countries, accepting 23 different currencies.

Use of Funds

The newly acquired funds will be utilized to expand its geographic coverage by hiring additional engineers and increasing liquidity within its global stablecoin payments network, among other strategic initiatives.

CEO Kevin Lehtiniitty shared insights on the company's vision: “Borderless.xyz is creating a new payments network that connects liquidity from stablecoin-enabled financial institutions worldwide across different blockchains and stablecoins. This orchestration layer allows money to be moved anywhere, anytime.” He further emphasized that their goal mirrors Visa's approach for banks, enabling products and platforms to facilitate global cross-border payments on a unified network.

Amity Ventures Managing Partner CJ Reim will join the board of directors for Borderless.xyz following this pre-seed funding round.
