Competition Watchdog's Stance on Google and Anthropic Partnership

(Reuters) – Britain's competition watchdog stated on Tuesday that the partnership between Google-parent Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL) and artificial intelligence startup Anthropic does not warrant an investigation under the merger provisions.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) had been examining Alphabet's relationship with Anthropic since July, seeking opinions on whether the deal could negatively impact competition within the UK.
