Poland Stock Market Update
Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Construction, Banking, and Media sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 1.37%.
Best Performers
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were:
– BUDIMEX SA (WA:BDXP): rose 5.74% or 32.00 points to trade at 589.50.
– Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR): added 5.37% or 4.74 points to end at 93.06.
– Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO): was up 4.07% or 5.85 points to 149.50 in late trade.
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session were:
– Kruk SA (WA:KRU): fell 3.90% or 17.40 points to trade at 428.60.
– Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW): declined 2.24% or 0.63 points to end at 27.50.
– Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP): down 2.19% or 1.95 points to 87.15.
Market Overview
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 253 to 241, with 111 ending unchanged.
Commodities Update
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.49% or 0.36 to $73.21 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading:
– Brent oil for December fell 0.69% or 0.53 to hit $76.65 a barrel.
– December Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 3.10 to trade at $2,632.30 a troy ounce.
Currency Update
- EUR/PLN was down 0.18% to 4.29.
- USD/PLN was unchanged at 3.92.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 102.58.
