Brazil Stock Market Update

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, driven by losses in the Basic Materials, Telecoms, and Industrials sectors.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.38%.

Best Performers

  • Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:COGN3): +12.70% or +0.16 points, trading at 1.42.
  • Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4): +7.48% or +0.43 points, closing at 6.18.
  • YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:YDUQ3): +5.32% or +0.54 points, finishing at 10.69.

Worst Performers

  • Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:CSNA3): -4.70% or -0.60 points, closing at 12.16.
  • Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA USIMINAS Pref (BVMF:USIM5): -4.14% or -0.26 points, ending at 6.02.
  • CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:CMIN3): -3.66% or -0.23 points, trading at 6.05.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 491 to 429, with 60 stocks remaining unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil ETF Volatility, which measures implied volatility of Bovespa options, decreased by 0.60% to 31.44.

Commodities Update

  • Gold Futures for December delivery fell 1.05% or 28.05 to $2,637.95 per troy ounce.
  • Crude oil for November delivery decreased by 4.32% or 3.33 to $73.81 per barrel.
  • The December US coffee C contract increased 1.42% or 3.48 to $248.13.

Currency Update

  • USD/BRL rose 0.80% to 5.53.
  • EUR/BRL increased 0.92% to 6.07.
  • The US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.06% to 102.24.
