Poland Stock Market Update

Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, with losses in the Media, Banking, and Chemicals sectors impacting shares.

At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 index fell 0.34%.

Best Performers

The best performers on the WIG30 were:
Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN): up 2.08% or 1.16 points to trade at 57.03.
Eurocash SA (WA:EUR): increased by 1.80% or 0.17 points to end at 9.63.
KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH): rose 1.69% or 2.70 points to 162.05 in late trading.

Worst Performers

The worst performers were:
Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP): fell 3.40% or 0.29 points closing at 8.23.
Dino Polska SA (WA:DNP): declined 2.48% or 8.70 points to 342.00.
Benefit Systems SA (WA:BFT): down 2.09% or 55.00 points to 2,580.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 312 to 190, with 92 ending unchanged.

Commodity Prices

  • Crude oil for November delivery increased 4.59% or 3.13 to $71.30 per barrel.
  • Brent oil for December rose 4.24% or 3.04 to $74.74 per barrel.
  • December Gold Futures contract up 0.98% or 26.10 to $2,685.50 per troy ounce.

Currency Exchange Rates

  • EUR/PLN increased by 0.15% to 4.29.
  • USD/PLN rose 0.85% to 3.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.48% at 101.00.
