Verizon Mobile Network Outage
(Reuters) – Verizon Communications’ mobile network experienced significant disruptions for thousands of users across the United States on Monday, as reported by outage tracking website Downdetector.com.
Outage Reports
According to Downdetector, there were over 100,000 incidents of users reporting issues with the telecom operator’s services. The platform tracks outages by collating status reports from various sources, including user-submitted errors.
The outages began around 9:30 a.m. ET and were noted in several locations, including Chicago, Indianapolis, and Minneapolis.
User Experiences
Some Verizon users posted on the social media platform X that their phones displayed “SOS” mode. This indicates that iPhones are not connected to a cellular network but can still make emergency calls via other carriers, according to Apple’s website.
Company Response
Verizon has not yet responded to requests for comments regarding the outage.
