Bitdeer to Launch New Bitcoin Mining Chip
Bitcoin miner Bitdeer will soon launch a new state-of-the-art chip following a successful tape-out, the process when a chip manufacturer tests its designs.
SEAL02 Chip
The SEAL02 chip, built in collaboration with leading semiconductor producer TSMC, boasts an exceptional power efficiency ratio of 13.5 J/TH while operating at lower speeds.
Linghui Kong, Bitdeer’s Chief Business Officer, expressed excitement about achieving SEALMINER’s power efficiency target as outlined in the company’s roadmap. “Our ongoing commitment to R&D is making innovative and superior solutions possible,” he stated.
Production Plans
Bitdeer plans to begin mass production of the new mining machines in November. The company is also researching the new SEAL03 mining chip, according to a recent press release.
Recent Developments
In May, Bitdeer Technologies Group entered into an agreement with Tether for a private sale of up to $150 million of its shares.
Like many bitcoin mining companies, Bitdeer has ventured into the AI computing sector. The Singapore-headquartered company reported a net loss of $17.7 million in the second quarter of 2014.
