Michael Saylor’s BTC EUR Prediction

Michael Saylor, founder and executive manager of Bitcoin-focused company Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), recently shared his thoughts on the future of the European Union and its fiat currency, the EUR, via his official account on X, predicting that “EUR gonna need BTC.”

Saylor’s BTC EUR Prediction

While some in the cryptocurrency community agreed with Saylor’s prediction, others sought further explanation in the comments. In essence, Saylor suggests that the EUR may face challenges, positioning Bitcoin as a potential alternative. This aligns with his long-standing position that Bitcoin serves as a hedge against inflation and fiat currency devaluation.

On March 19, Saylor tweeted a chart depicting the surging US dollar against the Turkish lira, advising, “Try BTC.”

US Building Strategic Bitcoin Reserve

Saylor’s comments were likely a subtle nudge to establish a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR), akin to the recent initiative by newly-elected President Trump. Despite some disappointment due to the absence of immediate BTC purchases by the government, the US has accumulated more than 199,000 Bitcoins from various confiscations, mainly related to illicit activities such as the Silk Road.

Saylor’s company, Strategy, is among the largest corporate Bitcoin holders, with nearly half a million BTC on its balance sheet. This amount recently increased by 130 Bitcoins, as announced by the company.

Saylor Launches STRF to Fund Bitcoin Accumulation

Two days ago, Saylor announced the launch of Strife (STRF), a new offering targeting both institutional and select non-institutional investors. The proceeds will be used to further Bitcoin accumulation, with plans to purchase $21 billion worth of BTC in the coming years. The offering includes 5 million Series A Perpetual Strife Preferred Stock, promising 10% annual dividends paid quarterly to investors.
