Open Builders Expands with Not Games

Open Builders, the company behind the influential Telegram tap-to-earn game Notcoin, announced on Wednesday its expansion beyond individual games with the rollout of Not Games. This new platform will feature unified progression and rewards shared across multiple new games.

A Unified Gaming Experience

Recently teased by Notcoin, Not Games aims to unify the previously fragmented gaming experience on Telegram by incorporating persistent player profiles, shared inventories, and an integrated economy across various games.

Features of Not Games

  • Single Player Profile: Maintains achievements and rankings across all titles in the ecosystem.
  • Unified Balance and Inventory System: Allows assets earned in one game to have utility in others. Earned items can be sold through secondary marketplaces.

Not Games will utilize the existing NOT token on The Open Network (TON), which Notcoin launched in a large-scale airdrop last year. The NOT token reached a peak market cap of nearly $3 billion, marking it as last year’s top gaming token launch, although its price has since declined, similar to many other gaming tokens.

NOT Token Utilization

Players can use NOT for purchases, upgrades, and rewards across all titles in Not Games. Open Builders states that the top players will compete for NOT rewards every three weeks in skill-based challenges.

Upcoming Game: VOID

The first game integrated into Not Games will be VOID, a real-time skill-based game inspired by the popular web game Agar.io. VOID launched to the public last week after a closed beta period.

Open Builders founder Sasha Plotvinov had teased plans for a Not Games-like platform last spring, expressing hopes to cultivate a Netflix-like platform for discovering and playing a steady selection of new games. “We want it to become the Netflix of social, viral games,” he told Decrypt last April.
