Brazil Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Financials, and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.95% to hit a new all-time high.
Best Performers
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were:
– Petroleo Brasileiro SA (BVMF:PETR3): rose 8.86% (3.49 points) to trade at 42.88.
– Petroleo Brasileiro SA PN (BVMF:PETR4): added 7.24% (2.67 points) to end at 39.56.
– Sao Martinho SA (BVMF:SMTO3): was up 3.95% (1.16 points) to 30.51 in late trade.
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session were:
– Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3): fell 7.56% (0.17 points) to trade at 2.08.
– RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (BVMF:RAIL3): declined 3.09% (0.73 points) to end at 22.88.
– Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF:MGLU3): was down 2.57% (0.35 points) to 13.27.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 508 to 448, and 61 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 17.09% to 26.24.
Commodities Summary
- Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.33% (8.35) to $2,554.65 a troy ounce.
- Crude Oil for delivery in October rose 3.01% (2.25) to hit $77.08 a barrel.
- The December US coffee C contract rose 2.79% (6.78) to trade at $249.68.
Currency Update
- USD/BRL was up 0.25% to 5.50.
- EUR/BRL fell 1.37% to 6.13.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 100.77.
