Hertz Appoints New Board Directors
(Reuters) – Car rental company Hertz announced on Tuesday the election of Francis Blake and Lucy Clark Dougherty as directors, increasing the board size from nine to eleven members.
These appointments come as Hertz streamlines operations amid weak demand and addresses issues with its electric vehicles (EVs) due to unexpected repair costs and fleet maintenance expenses.
Francis Blake, the former CEO of Home Depot, has also served as non-executive chairman at Delta Air Lines. Lucy Clark Dougherty previously worked at General Motors.
Earlier this year, Hertz appointed Gil West, a former executive at Delta and GM as its top boss.
Hertz shares have seen a decline of approximately 67% this year.
