CZ Warns Users of Hacked Accounts Promoting Tokens

In a recent post, Changpeng Zhao (CZ) shared a screenshot of a trader’s account that appeared to be hacked, promoting meme coins to followers. CZ stated, “This account probably got just hacked. It suddenly started to reach out to people to promote new meme coins. And the profile changed.”

The account’s handle is artists_voyager, claiming to be a social media manager for web3 companies and marketing for Binance Labs. CZ clarified that the account owner does not work for Binance or YZi Labs. He noted that although the owner is a long-time supporter of BNB, they are misleading followers.

Additionally, CZ warned YZi Labs employees against promoting any cryptocurrency, stating that violators will face immediate termination. This advisory follows a previous incident where the official X account for Solana meme launchpad Pump.fun was hacked, promoting scam tokens to its followers. The account has since regained control.

Earlier this month, a similar incident occurred with the official Dior Instagram account, which was hacked to promote a Solana-based token, the Dior Official Coin, before being taken down after accumulating over $1 million in trading volume.

Responding to concerns about security on social media, CZ humorously mentioned that X accounts might see improvements in security once they “launch a wallet.”

Summary

In a warning, CZ alerted users of hacked accounts promoting tokens, emphasizing that YZi Labs staff will be fired for such promotions.
