South Florida Woman Faces Deportation After Alleged Crypto Theft

A South Florida woman, Maissa Jebali, 22, could face deportation after allegedly stealing over $850,000 in cryptocurrency from her ex-boyfriend, Anthony Bravo.

The Accusation

Jebali is accused of taking a substantial amount of Donald Trump’s official Solana meme coin (TRUMP) following a dispute on Bravo’s yacht. According to a Miami Police Department affidavit, Bravo discovered the theft after waking from a nap and checking his crypto accounts.

Bravo claims Jebali accessed his phone and transferred the crypto from his Phantom wallet to her own. He stated, “I loved this girl very much,” although their relationship was ending before the incident.

Additionally, Bravo alleges that Jebali charged expenses on his credit cards, including a $14,000 shopping spree and fees at an Airbnb.

Legal Actions

After filing a police report via private investigator David Bolton, Jebali was arrested at the Yotel Miami on charges of grand theft and credit card fraud. Despite the allegations, Jebali denied any malicious intent, claiming Bravo had allowed her to use his credit card and that their relationship had already ended.

Bravo is seeking restitution and justice for the theft. Jebali is currently in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and may be deported back to Tunisia.

Global Crypto Theft Trends

If found guilty, it’s possible that the stolen crypto funds may remain inaccessible to Bravo. Reports indicate that crypto thefts are rising globally, with different incidents, including scams and violent robberies.

In 2024, there were 19 reported offline crypto robberies globally, with trends continuing into 2025. These thefts expose the vulnerabilities of crypto holders as digital assets are increasingly involved in criminal activities. Recent incidents include a fake Uber driver stealing $300,000 in crypto and six arrests in South Korea related to a crypto robbery.
