Jupiter Account Hacked

Solana-based DEX aggregator Jupiter’s account on social media platform X was hacked on Wednesday, promoting fake meme cryptocurrencies.

“The main Jupiter Exchange account has been compromised,” Jupiter Mobile’s X handle posted, warning users not to click links. “Team is working on restoring access.”

In a series of now-deleted posts, the account promoted what appeared to be a scam memecoin with the ticker $MEOW, potentially named after pseudonymous co-founder Meow.

“Traders lost millions instantly on this Jupiter account hack … literally in a matter of minutes,” stated Beanie, founder of crypto venture capital firm GM Capital. “It’s amazing how we trust these protocols with billions of dollars in liquidity but they’re not competent enough to protect their social media.”

Under the alert from Jupiter Mobile, multiple users reported losing their Solana tokens. While previous posts have been deleted, as of 9:15 p.m. ET, Jupiter’s X account remained compromised, with the hacker uploading posts promoting another token, $DCOIN. Jupiter did not respond to The Block’s request for comment.
