Uniswap v4 Deployment

Uniswap Labs announced that the version 4 deployment will begin gradually this week for developers to test hooks and integrations on the chain. Full deployment of all contracts is anticipated for next week.

Uniswap v4 carries forward the capital efficiency advancements of v3 while introducing several architectural enhancements.

Key Features of Uniswap v4

• Singleton Liquidity Architecture: This new approach consolidates liquidity through a single smart contract, potentially leading to faster transactions, reduced gas fees, and an improved user experience.

• Increased Modularity: The introduction of “hooks” allows developers to create additional customizable functions for liquidity pools on top of Uniswap.

• Flash Accounting System: Unlike v3, where assets are transferred in and out of pools after every swap, the new system transfers only net balances. This change is expected to provide substantial gas savings.

Originally, Uniswap developers planned to launch v4 in 2024, but the rollout was delayed due to several code audits and security competitions.
