World Liberty’s Treasury Diversification
World Liberty, a crypto project associated with President-elect Donald Trump, is diversifying its treasury holdings into more speculative tokens away from stablecoins.
The treasury exchanged approximately $24.6 million of the stablecoin USDC for several tokens: Ether (ETH), Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), Tron (TRX), Link (LINK), Aave (AAVE), and Ethena (ENA), as reported by blockchain data platform Arkham. The breakdown of purchases is as follows:
– $4.7 million of each token (except Ethena)
– $2.3 million of Ethena
Recently, the treasury has consistently acquired Ether, now holding 43,000 ETH valued at $143 million, surpassing its stablecoin holdings. It also possesses:
– $96 million in Tether (USDT)
– $56 million in USDC
Additionally, current holdings include around $6.5 million combined in Wrapped Bitcoin, Aave, and Link, $4.6 million in Tron, and $3 million in Ethena.
Interestingly, the project has not yet ventured into the official Trump memecoins like Donald Trump’s Official Trump and Melania Trump’s MELANIA.
In November, Justin Sun, founder of Tron, invested $30 million in WLFI tokens and subsequently became an advisor to the project. He is also linked to Wrapped Bitcoin after his backed firm, BiT Global, became a major stakeholder.
