Circle’s Donation to Trump’s Inaugural Committee
Circle’s CEO Jeremy Allaire announced that the crypto firm has donated $1 million USDC to Donald Trump’s inaugural committee, joining other major tech firms in support.
Multiple crypto companies, including Ripple and Coinbase, along with tech giants like Amazon, Google, and Apple, have contributed to Trump’s inaugural funding, as reported by various news sources.
> “We are excited to be building a great American company, and the fact that the Committee took payment in USDC is an indicator of how far we have come, and the potential and power of digital dollars,” Allaire remarked in a post on X on Thursday.
The crypto industry significantly impacted the 2024 elections, with substantial funding directed toward key races. For example, Fairshake raised over $200 million to support important campaigns, with significant contributions from major crypto firms like Ripple and Coinbase. This led to what some describe as the most pro-crypto Congress in history, especially given Trump’s assurances to support the crypto sector.
An inaugural committee is responsible for overseeing the president’s inauguration ceremony and related events, scheduled for January 20.
