Brazil Stock Market Update

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumption, Industrials, and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.67%, hitting a new 6-month low.

Best Performers

  • Brava Energia SA (BVMF:BRAV3): +10.64% (up 2.17 points) to close at 22.57.
  • Pet Center Comercio e Participacoes (BVMF:PETZ3): +3.75% (up 0.15 points) to close at 4.15.
  • Automob Participações SA (BVMF:AMOB3): +2.94% (up 0.01 points) to close at 0.35.

Worst Performers

  • Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3): -7.17% (down 0.36 points) to close at 4.66.
  • Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3): -4.62% (down 0.26 points) to close at 5.37.
  • Lwsa SA (BVMF:LWSA3): -3.30% (down 0.11 points) to close at 3.22.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 519 to 437, with 49 unchanged.

Shares in Atacadao SA fell to all-time lows, while Lwsa SA hit a 3-year low.

The CBOE Brazil ETF Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.25% to 33.01.

  • Gold Futures (February): -0.81% (down 21.39) to $2,632.51 per troy ounce.
  • Crude Oil (February): +0.95% (up 0.66) to $70.28 per barrel.
  • US Coffee C (March): -0.88% (down 2.85) to $321.80.

Currency Exchange

  • USD/BRL: +0.23% to 6.20.
  • EUR/BRL: +0.59% to 6.46.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 107.82.
