Canada Stock Market Update

Investing.com – Canada stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, with gains in the Clean Technology, IT, and Energy sectors leading the market.

At the close in Toronto, the S&P/TSX Composite added 0.40%.

Best Performers

The best performers of the session on the S&P/TSX Composite included:
ATS Corporation (TSX:ATS): rose 4.29% or 1.84 points to trade at 44.75.
BlackBerry Ltd (TSX:BB): added 4.05% or 0.22 points to end at 5.65.
Vermilion Energy Inc (TSX:VET): up 2.82% or 0.36 points to 13.13.

Worst Performers

The worst performers of the session were:
Denison Mines Corp (TSX:DML): fell 2.15% or 0.06 points to trade at 2.73.
Jamieson Wellness Inc (TSX:JWEL): declined 1.78% or 0.66 points to end at 36.46.
Telus Corp (TSX:T): down 1.52% or 0.30 points to 19.45.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange with a ratio of 0 to 0.

Notable Stocks

Shares in BlackBerry Ltd (TSX:BB) rose to 52-week highs, increasing 4.05% or 0.22 to 5.65. Conversely, shares in Telus Corp (TSX:T) fell to 5-year lows, decreasing 1.52% or 0.30 to 19.45.

The S&P/TSX 60 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, was down 2.00% to 10.79.
