Portugal Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Financials, and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.23%, hitting a new 6-month low.
Best Performers
The best performers of the session on the PSI were:
– CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT): rose 4.26% or 0.22 points to trade at 5.39 at the close.
– The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR): added 2.23% or 0.08 points to end at 3.48.
– Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS): up 0.78% or 0.04 points to 5.20 in late trade.
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session were:
– EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR): fell 1.50% or 0.14 points to trade at 9.50 at the close.
– Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP): declined 0.84% or 0.14 points to end at 16.51.
– Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS): down 0.79% or 0.06 points to 7.50.

Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) rose to 5-year highs, gaining 4.26% or 0.22 to 5.39. Conversely, shares in EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) fell to 3-year lows, dropping 1.50% or 0.14 to 9.50.
Commodities Update
Brent oil for February delivery was down 0.12% or 0.09 to $72.79 a barrel. In commodities trading:
– Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.74% or 1.23 to hit $69.35 a barrel.
– February Gold Futures contract rose 1.45% or 37.81 to trade at $2,645.91 a troy ounce.
Currency Update
- EUR/USD was up 0.70% to 1.04.
- EUR/GBP was unchanged at 0.83.
- The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.70% at 107.39.
