Environmental Groups Drop Lawsuit Against USPS

Date: WASHINGTON (Reuters)
A coalition of 16 states, led by California, alongside environmental organizations, has chosen to withdraw a lawsuit from 2022 that aimed to halt the U.S. Postal Service's plans to purchase primarily gas-powered next-generation delivery vehicles.

Since the lawsuit was initiated, the Postal Service has revised its strategy from acquiring 90% gasoline vehicles and only 10% electric vehicles (EVs) to focusing predominantly on EV purchases.
The California Attorney General's office announced on Thursday that the states and organizations determined it was in their best interest to dismiss the lawsuit, citing USPS's commitment to rebuild its fleet with a majority of electric vehicles.
