Poland Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, driven by gains in the Construction, Banking, and Chemicals sectors.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.59%.
Top Performers
The best performers on the WIG30 included:
– BUDIMEX SA (WA:BDXP): rose 5.31% (23.40 points) to trade at 463.80
– Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP): added 3.07% (0.26 points) to end at 8.55
– Text SA (WA:TXTP): increased 2.25% (1.50 points) to close at 68.30
Worst Performers
Conversely, the worst performers were:
– PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE): fell 4.79% (0.30 points) to trade at 5.92
– Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW): declined 3.11% (0.71 points) to end at 22.10
– Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE): down 2.86% (0.11 points) to 3.74
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, with 299 declines and 225 advances, while 109 remained unchanged.
PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA shares fell to 52-week lows.
Commodities Update
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.88% (0.62) to $70.70 a barrel. In commodities trading:
– Brent oil (February): 1.23% (0.90) to $74.09 a barrel
– Gold (February): fell 0.31% (8.24) to $2,653.76 a troy ounce
Currency Update
- EUR/PLN unchanged at 4.26
- USD/PLN rose 0.14% to 4.07
- US Dollar Index Futures up 0.21% at 106.89.
