McCormick & Company in Acquisition Talks with Sauer Brands
Investing.com– McCormick & Company Incorporated (NYSE:MKC) is in discussions to acquire Sauer Brands Inc from Falfurrias Capital Partners (WA:CPAP), as reported by Bloomberg on Monday evening. This potential acquisition could enhance McCormick’s presence in the condiments market.
The deal is speculated to value Sauer, recognized for its Duke’s mayonnaise brand, at over $1 billion. As per Bloomberg, negotiations are ongoing, and no agreement has been finalized.
Earlier reports indicated that Falfurrias was considering selling Sauer.
Since its establishment in 1889, McCormick has consistently grown its market share in the condiments sector through various acquisitions. Notably, in 2020, the company acquired flavor maker Fona International and hot sauce producer Cholula for a total of $1.5 billion.
