Belgium Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods, and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.08%.
Best Performers
- KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) rose 2.75% or 1.96 points to trade at 73.20 at the close.
- Ageas (EBR:AGES) added 1.53% or 0.72 points to end at 47.80.
- Azelis Corporate Services NV (EBR:AZE) was up 0.61% or 0.12 points to 19.78 in late trade.
Worst Performers
- Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) fell 4.31% or 0.46 points to trade at 10.21 at the close.
- Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) declined 2.81% or 2.17 points to end at 74.98.
- D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) was down 2.30% or 3.90 points to 165.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 55 to 37, while 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) rose to 52-week highs, increasing 2.75% or 1.96 to 73.20.
Commodity Prices
- Gold Futures for February delivery decreased 1.08% or 29.31 to $2,680.09 a troy ounce.
- Crude oil for January delivery rose 1.67% or 1.17 to hit $71.19 a barrel.
- The February Brent oil contract rose 1.40% or 1.03 to trade at $74.44 a barrel.
Currency Exchange Rates
- EUR/USD was unchanged at 1.05.
- EUR/GBP rose 0.65% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 106.69.
