Netherlands stocks lower at close of trade; AEX down 0.19%

Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.19%.

The best performers of the session on the AEX were Heineken (AS:HEIN), which rose 1.21% or 0.84 points to trade at 70.26 at the close. Meanwhile, ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 0.74% or 5.00 points to end at 683.30 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was up 0.34% or 0.11 points to 32.19 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which fell 3.98% or 0.60 points to trade at 14.47 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 2.67% or 0.40 points to end at 14.66 and BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) was down 2.01% or 2.55 points to 124.15.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 62 to 42 and 6 ended unchanged.

The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.

Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.24% or 0.17 to $70.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.18% or 0.13 to hit $73.39 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 1.80% or 49.59 to trade at $2,707.11 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.44% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 106.28.
